CLEARING ABSENCES: We need your help to keep accurate attendance

• If you or your child believes their absence is a mistake, they should discuss it with their teacher.  They are the only one who can truly verify their attendance.  The teacher can fix it in Aeries or sign a note and the student can bring it to the attendance office. 

• If your child will be (or has been) absent from school please contact the Attendance office immediately (either by phone or a signed note)
  • Notes and voicemails should include: 
    • Student name
    • Date(s) and/or period(s) absent
    • Reason for absence(s)
    • Parent/guardian name
    • Phone number
    • Signature
  • Notes can be dropped off at the attendance window.
• Parents have 3 days (72 hours) from the date of absence to clear any absences.
• If the school is not contacted or a signed note is not received from the parent/guardian explaining the absence it will be marked U (cut) and will be coded as truant for that class period or day.
• If the school is contacted and the reason for the absence is inexcusable, or exceeds the allowed parent verified absences the absence will be marked as U (cut) and will be coded as truant for that day or class period and cannot be cleared.
• If the student is seen by a medical professional please bring a doctor note.
• Parents can clear up to 10 absences per school year, each additional health related absence must be cleared by a doctor's note and will be coded as G.

Off-CAMPUS PASSES:For the safety and protection of your child, your cooperation with the following procedures will be appreciated.

We must limit classroom interruptions due to the shortened school day therefore, it is IMPERATIVE that ample notice is given.  

• If your child will need to leave early (even if they drive themselves) please contact the attendance office (either by phone or a signed note) AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. 
  • Notes and voicemails should include: 
    • Student name
    • Date
    • Destination
    • Time leaving
    • Time returning
    • Parent/guardian name
    • Phone number
    • Signature
  • Notes can be dropped off at the attendance window. 
• Off campus pass needs to be signed before returning to campus
• Upon return:
  • Same Day - Use the off campus pass as their "back to class note" then promptly return to the attendance window after class.
  • Next Day - Drop the off campus pass at the attendance drop box
